Contreras hits 36th home run, Ignites San Antonio Offense
|
San Antonio first baseman Ricky Contreras helped his team beat the Eugene Emeralds, 8-2. Contreras, who is tied for 6th in the RA with a .662 slugging percentage, went 2 for 3 for the River Bandits. Alex Alvarado went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The left-hander struck out 4 and walked 5. With the win, he ups his record to 9-4 this season. San Antonio goes to 96-65. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
San Antonio used the hitting of Alex Sanchez to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Bandits on top, 5-1. For the game, Sanchez had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was a good win," said San Antonio manager Lemn Onkwani. "Not without blemish, but good."
