Bandits Throttled by River Bandits, 5-1
|
The San Antonio River Bandits stifled the Brownsville Bandits, 5-1, at Dr Pepper Stadium. Sean Laidlaw had his hitting cap on. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for San Antonio. The triumph puts San Antonio at 87-74 for the season.
There was more than one reason the River Bandits beat the Bandits, but Laidlaw's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said River Bandits manager Lemn Onkwani, "I like our chances."
