Walnut Creek right-hander Matt White pitched his team to victory over the Buffalo Bison at Castlerock Field. The final score was 4-2. In 6.2 innings, White surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Ray Clemens earned the save for Walnut Creek, his 8th.
Walnut Creek shortstop Mario Rodriguez helped the Warriors go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Rodriguez hit a run-scoring single off Buffalo pitcher Brad Helmick.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," White told the Walnut Creek Gazette.
With the win, the Warriors sit at 66-48.
