Billy Mathews Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Elizabeth Town Thunder and St. Petersburg Pelicans.

In a low-scoring contest between the Elizabeth Town Thunder and the St. Petersburg Pelicans, Willie Lopez was the X factor. The Elizabeth Town left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Juan Lares was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Elizabeth Town won the game in part because of Chris Peoples. The second baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Thunder ahead, 3-2. For the game, Peoples had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Elizabeth Town manager .
