Victor Oceguera pitched a gem to lead Eugene to victory over the Brownsville Bandits, 3-1. Santos Lorenzana recorded his 24th save for Eugene. At 85-72, the Emeralds find themselves in 4th place in the RCL A Tommy Lasorda Division.
The Emeralds got a big at-bat from left fielder Juan Martinez. For the game, Martinez was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Eugene a 2-0 lead.
"Victor pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Eugene manager .
