The Dallas Texans beat the Bighorn Bison in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 12-9, Texans. One of the hitting stars was center fielder Chris Sawyer. Sawyer, who is tied for 9th in the RCL with a .549 slugging percentage, was 2 for 2 with a home run and 4 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Danny Iraheta snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-5 on the season. Patrick Greathouse suffered the loss. Chris Nugent sewed up the save, his 20th.

The Bison had been locked in a 8-8 tie with the Texans going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Miguel Portugal came to the plate. Portugal hit a 2-run double on a full count fastball from Bighorn hurler Patrick Greathouse. It was Portugal's 30th double of the year.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Dallas manager Gary Stoy.

At 47-51, Dallas is in 5th place in the Roberto Clemente League Mike Brouillette Division.
