Ron Gerlt had a big hand in the 10-8 Vancouver triumph over Maple. He rattled off 4 hits in 5 at-bats, scoring 2 times and knocking in 3 runs. Maple, with the loss, is 6-6.

The decisive blow was delivered by Mitch Delagrange in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off fireballing 6' 10" left-hander Allen Justice to win the game for Vancouver. The home crowd went nuts.

"This place sure got loud," said Lemn Onkwani, the Vancouver manager.
