Marauders Rally Late to Clip Seattle
Kevin Spottswood was a vital contributor to the 8-7 Maple victory over Seattle. The Marauders right fielder was 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks. Maple reliever Bobby Matthews picked up the win to move to 1-0. Sam Godfrey suffered the loss. The 5th-place Sasquatch now sit at 53-60.

Maple used a timely hit from John Conner to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Marauders ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Seattle manager Vicente Vargas. "But we decided not to take it."
