Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Civics
Civics Field played host to some dramatic action.

The Ottawa Civics took Dan Strachan's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Civics Field. The final score had Ottawa getting past the Lake Monsters, 5-4, in 10 innings. Strachan over 8 innings allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7. Ottawa reliever Ben Waite picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Rick Ezell absorbed the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Alberto Melchor in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Rick Ezell to win the game for Ottawa. The home crowd went nuts.

"Big win," said Melchor.

The win puts Ottawa at 95-57 this season.
