San Francisco Defeats Eureka, 6-4
|
Eureka got a terrific game from left fielder Mark Bradford. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to San Francisco, 6-4. Bradford went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Rosario Lulli earned the save for San Francisco. The Earthquakes, at 37-60, sit in 6th place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from shortstop Jeff Britton. For the game, Britton was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave San Francisco a 3-2 lead.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Britton. "It sure beats the alternative."
