Thanks in large part to first baseman Ted Gambill, the Charleston Panthers beat the San Angelo Mustangs, 20-2. Gambill was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Francisco Carbajal got the win, improving to 5-4. He worked 8.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 3. The slumping Mustangs have lost 7 straight.

Jacob Eschbach had a big 2-run double for the Panthers in the bottom of the second inning. With Charleston leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Acosta and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Panthers ahead, 3-0.
