Morales Powers Warriors to 8-2 Win
The Walnut Creek Warriors thumped the Buffalo Bison, 8-2, at Castlerock Field. Jonathan Morales was a big reason his team got the win. Morales went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Walnut Creek starter Joseph Fredericks was credited with the win after throwing 115 pitches over 8.1 innings. His record now stands at 11-4. At 76-38, Walnut Creek is in first place in the Thurman Munson League West Division.

Jorge Batista had a big run-scoring double for the Warriors in the bottom of the second inning. With Walnut Creek leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Esteban Mora and swatted a double to center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Warriors ahead, 2-0.

"I loved our energy," said Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina. "I loved the way we played."
