Hazleton Nerve Tested in 3-2 Win
|
San Antonio got a terrific performance from pitcher Sam Marshall, but it wasn't enough to beat the Hazleton Birdwings. Hazleton won the Road Warriors Field contest, 3-2. Marshall threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Li-zhi Chung. He is now 4-2. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. Hazleton occupies first place in the RCL A Tommy Lasorda Division at 82-64.
Harrison Edwards was the walk-off hero for Hazleton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Birdwings left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Edwards said.
