|
San Antonio third baseman Jeff Eaton had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Eaton went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4, even as Hazleton beat the River Bandits, 7-5. Hazleton is now 81-64, while San Antonio is 80-65.
The Birdwings got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Beau McCann. For the game, McCann went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Hazleton a 7-5 lead.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said McCann.
