Juan Alvarez impressed in the 8-7 Baltimore win over Brisbane. Alvarez, who is tied for 9th in the TA in stolen bases with 15, was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner in relief was Alex Enriquez. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 4-0. Now 94-50, Baltimore has won 11 consecutive games.

Steve Larson drove in one run for Baltimore. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bill Robies. It was his 39th RBI of the season.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Brisbane manager Tan Yue.
