Lawmen Use Late-Game Magic to Beat River Chiefs, 8-5
The Marshall Lawmen topped the Chippewa River Chiefs, 8-5, with youngster Luis Martinez playing a key role. Martinez was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Lawmen in the win. Michel Mercier recorded the save, his 4th. The Lawmen sit in third place in the RCL A Dusty Baker Division with a record of 82-62.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Martinez delivered big-time for Marshall, stroking a dramatic grand slam home run off Roberto Reyes. The game-changing hit put the Lawmen on top, 8-4.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Martinez told reporters after the game.
