Lake Monsters Held in Check by Pelicans, Lose, 3-1
|
Dan Baughman never let Okanagan get something going. The St. Petersburg right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Pelicans to a 3-1 win. The save went to Kelby Balaski, number 4 for him. The last-place Pelicans own a record of 37-107.
Cesar Diaz hit a solo home run off Tim Connel in the bottom of the third, which put the Pelicans ahead, 1-0. In addition to the homer, Diaz had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Diaz.
