Kingwood Tags Campo with 5-2 Defeat
|
The Kingwood Knights beat the Campo NoBos, 5-2, at Valhalla Summit. Kingwood catcher Salvador Guzman had an outstanding performance. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Kenny Holloway got the save, his 8th in 9 chances. By defeating Campo, the 4th-place Knights improved to 69-73.
It could have been a different outcome for Kingwood, had it not been for Kyle Huff, the 22-year old shortstop . Huff contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Kingwood up, 2-1.
Said losing manager Adrián Cortés: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
