Knights Get Clutch Win, 3-2
|
In a tight tilt between the Kingwood Knights and the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, Eddie Albares was the deciding factor. The Kingwood right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Justin Bailey, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Kingwood is in 6th place in the TML A Dick Williams Division with a record of 70-71.
Kingwood used the timely hitting of Kevin DiMaio to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Knights on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Kingwood manager Kazuki Yamamoto.
