Pioneers Down Butterflies, 6-2
|
Vancouver Pioneers starter Mike Ortner kept the Pennsylvania Butterflies hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Ortner picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 10-10. The Pioneers, at 60-53, sit in second place in the Thurman Munson League West Division.
Mitch Delagrange was 1-3 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Vancouver. The 27-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Sam Mikolajczyk. It was his 61st RBI of the season.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Aaron Barnes.
