Roth Homers Twice in 15-13 Win
The Carson City Mustang beat the Madison Beehive in a game in which both teams scored early and often. The final score was 15-13, Mustang. One of the hitting stars was third baseman Jeff Roth. Roth, who is tied for 5th in the TAA in home runs with 25, belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 6. Jason Puliafico, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-2. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 3.1 innings. Chris DePalma earned the save for Carson City, his 3rd of the year.

With Carson City leading 11-0 in the top of the fifth, Roth came up to bat against Madison pitcher Omar Trujillo. Roth hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 25th home run of the season put the Mustang on top, 14-0.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Leon Morris.

The second-place Mustang sport a record of 81-78.
