Rock River Upended, 7-3, by Sandy Springs
|
Sandy Springs and Rock River got after it at The Coliseum.
The Sandy Springs Spartans picked up a win at The Coliseum, knocking off the Rock River Rats, 7-3. Starting pitcher Joe McGinnity was a big reason why. The loss makes Rock River 82-77.
Herb Harrison, who is tied for 3rd in the TAA in home runs with 27, took Rock River hurler Jimmy Welch deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Spartans on top, 3-0. In all, Harrison had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"Joe had good arm action, good stuff," said Sandy Springs manager Rafael Alonso.
