Two good teams met in a late-season showdown.

The game was a shootout. To win it, the Adirondack Lumberjacks had to outpace the Wauwatosa Indians. The final score was 13-9, Lumberjacks. Neither team lacked hitting stars. For Adirondack, designated hitter Danny Aguilar was the foremost. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 5. Adirondack reliever Tony Vertiz picked up the win, raising his record to 4-0. Erik Ledet was tagged with the loss.

Shortstop Pierre Parent made an impact for Adirondack, when he swatted a 2-run double off Justin Martin in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Parent was 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Aguilar, "but we could've played better."

The Lumberjacks now have a record of 93-66 with the win over Wauwatosa.
