Cornhuskers Held in Check by Lumberjacks, Lose, 3-1

The Adirondack Lumberjacks, despite a fine performance by DeKalb pitcher Edgar Peraza, grabbed a 3-1 win at Paul Bunyan Field. Peraza allowed no runs over 5.2 innings. The winner was Zach Mitchell, who threw 106 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 7 hits. Billy Guirguis recorded the save, his 6th.
Adirondack took a 2-1 lead on Nick Krause's 11th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Krause hit in the bottom of the seventh, left DeKalb pitcher Jordan Curry visibly frustrated.
"I like what I saw today," said Adirondack manager Nobuhito Suzuki, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
At 71-88, the Lumberjacks claim 5th place in the RCL AA Gene Mauch Division.
