Sandy Springs Pockets 9-5 Win Over Rock River
The Sandy Springs Spartans topped the Rock River Rats, 9-5, in TML AA action at The Coliseum. The standout performance belonged to Sandy Springs pitcher and Gilmore, Ohio, native Patrick Perillo. Perillo got the win, improving to 15-8. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. With the win over Rock River, the Spartans improved to 92-65.

The Rats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Spartans going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old right fielder Jonathan Sanchez came to the plate. Sanchez hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 slider from Rock River hurler Brett Bunn. It was Sanchez's 2nd home run of the year.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Sanchez after the game.
