Spartans Pull Off Thrilling 7-4 Win in Extras
The Sandy Springs Spartans beat the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 7-4, at The Stetson Bowl. The win was due in part to second baseman Jesse Mangini, who went 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Sandy Springs reliever Josh Wahl picked up the win, upping his record to 7-6. Ray Goulding took the loss. The 4th-place Spartans are 83-74.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ashton Clow? The Sandy Springs right fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Spartans on top, 5-4. For the game, Clow had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Mangini. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
