At Aloha Stadium, the Hawaii Honu and Dallas Texans were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Matt White, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Texans organization, never let the Honu get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Texans to a win, 6-0. White got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 4 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs.

In the top of the third, Dallas designated hitter Francois Latulippe had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Latulippe stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Dallas. For the game, he was 2-4 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Dallas manager Lester Burrow.

The 4th-place Texans are 49-48.
