Louisiana Slaps 7-3 Loss on Mustang
|
Louisiana picked up a win at Cowboys Stadium, bumping off the Carson City Mustang, 7-3. Pitcher Steve Simons was a major reason the Crocodiles emerged victorious. Simons yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-1. The second-place Mustang now sit at 78-78.
It could have been a different outcome for Louisiana, had it not been for Damian Diaz, the 25-year old second baseman . Diaz contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Louisiana up, 3-0.
"It's a mindset," said Simons. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
