The Clearwater Seagulls outlasted the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 7-6, in 10 innings. Chris Handley led the way, going 3-for-4 for Clearwater. The 4th-place Seagulls are 78-78.

Bill Colwell came through with a big-time hit for Clearwater. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Ayub Ndadaye, the Clearwater skipper.
