The Boston Whitecaps beat the Rock River Rats, 6-3, at The Rat Hole. Boston right fielder Matt Farmer had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Chris Knotts was the winner. He's now 5-4. The loser was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Agustin de la Cruz. Picking up his 9th save was fireballing left-hander Adam Walsh.

Jesus Pelayo came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The second baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall.

Boston leads the TML AA Jim Leyland Division by 18 games.
