The Clearwater Seagulls scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Fraser Valley Black Bears at Chapman Field. Clearwater pitcher Dave Rios held his own in the contest. Rios yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 16-9. The loss makes Fraser Valley 81-68.
Aaron Rowe, who is tied for 4th in the TAA in total bases with 294, helped out the Clearwater cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4 with a triple.
After the game, Clearwater manager Ayub Ndadaye applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
