The Drillers grabbed a win, 5-1, at The Coffee Grinder, overcoming a fine effort from Buzzard's Bay pitcher John Peters. Peters went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win boosted Beaumont to 79-69.
Beaumont used a clutch at-bat from Cesar Badillo to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Drillers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Drillers manager Takuzo Kaneshiro.
