The San Francisco Earthquakes got a sterling performance from pitcher Chris Crawford, but the Bighorn Bison still prevailed, 5-4. Crawford threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win was credited to 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Lake in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Josh Christie took the loss. The loss makes San Francisco 55-55.

Had Tom Clingan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Clingan hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Bison.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said San Francisco manager Bill DesMarais.
