The Bloomington Blazers rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher John Peters to a win, beating the Jacksonville Pilots, 7-2, at Arnold Field. Bloomington reliever John Peters got the win, raising his record to 14-4. B.J. Tourtelotte was tagged with the loss. The Blazers raised their record to 68-44.

Bill Shook had a big grand slam home run for the Blazers in the top of the sixth inning. With Bloomington leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Travis Carroll and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Blazers on top, 7-0.

Shook attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
