The Beaumont Drillers called upon starter Earl Hickman, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 4-2. Hickman got the win, improving to 7-13. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 7th save of the year was Mike Lake.

The Drillers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Luis Alcazar. For the game, Alcazar was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Beaumont a 3-1 lead.
