The Evanston Bishops polished off the Louisiana Crocodiles by the score of 10-1. The largest share of the credit belonged to second baseman Larry Gilliland. Gilliland went 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Bishops. The winner was Alberto Calderon in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mike Englund took the loss. The Bishops improved to 86-58.

With Evanston leading 3-0 in the top of the second, Gilliland hit a curveball from Jaime Kolster for a 2-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Bishops ahead, 5-0.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Louisiana manager Peter McColgan. "We got flat-out beat."
