Pipe Fitters Make Drillers 11-3 Losers
The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters met little resistance from the Beaumont Drillers, beating them, 11-3, at Drillers Stadium. Steve Venetz led the way. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Niagara Falls. The Pipe Fitters move to 86-56 with the win, while the Drillers drop to 75-68.

With Niagara Falls leading 6-0 in the top of the fourth, Venetz came up to bat against Beaumont pitcher Jamie Charles. Venetz hit a slider to right for a bases-clearing double. His 11th double of the season put the Pipe Fitters on top, 9-0.

"When you don't put the pitches where they're supposed to be, they hit you hard," said Beaumont skipper Takuzo Kaneshiro.
