Beetlecats Take Down Spartans, 7-6
|
Buzzard's Bay center fielder Tyler Donnell picked up 4 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-6. The win went to Danny Torres in relief, making him now 3-4. Matt Richards took the loss for Sandy Springs. With the win, the Beetlecats sit at 77-65.
Donnell had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 changeup from Matt Richards, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Beetlecats a 7-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Donnell.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Donnell told the Buzzard's Bay Observer, "and we played pretty well tonight."
