Lumberjacks Suffer 12-2 Drubbing
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Sandy Springs Spartans and Adirondack Lumberjacks were able to complete their ballgame.
The Sandy Springs Spartans pinned a convincing loss on the Adirondack Lumberjacks, 12-2, at Paul Bunyan Field. Herb Harrison was a main factor in the win. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Sandy Springs. Juan Tellez, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 9 innings.
In the top of the fifth, Sandy Springs right fielder Brian Stokes had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Stokes stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 3-2, Sandy Springs. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"They just got us," said Adirondack manager Daniel Brenton, "and that's all I can say."
Sandy Springs is now 82-59, while Adirondack is 83-58.
