Cornhuskers Slip Past Buzzard's Bay, 2-1

The DeKalb Cornhuskers took Buzzard's Bay pitcher Phil Jackson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Corn Crib. The final score had DeKalb getting past the Beetlecats, 2-1. Jackson went 8 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. DeKalb is 63-78 and Buzzard's Bay, with the loss, 93-48.
Kevin Kliewer was the walk-off hero for DeKalb. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cornhuskers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Buzzard's Bay manager Dorian Payne.
