Mounties 8-5 Winners Versus Havana
The Montreal Mounties overcame a pretty good performance by Havana second baseman Alex Espinosa, beating the Stogies, 8-5, at The Humidor. Espinosa went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Sandy Briseno earned the win for Montreal. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 8-6. The Roberto Clemente League International Division-leading Mounties have a record of 64-46.

Montreal used a well-timed hit by Bob Lamanske to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 5-4. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We came out aggressive," said Mounties manager Julián Martínez. "We came out swinging the bats."
