Earthquakes Take Down Bison, 2-1
|
The Bighorn Bison got a superb performance from pitcher Wes Stith. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Francisco. The Earthquakes won the game, 2-1. Stith threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Ethan Howell got the save, his 26th in 30 chances. The third-place Earthquakes now have a win-loss record of 55-53.
Junior Leeney came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Leeney.
