Blazers Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Round 5
|
The Bloomington Blazers are one game away from a sweep of the Havana Stogies today after a road win at The Humidor, 3-2. Blazers left-hander Ruben Cahue had a strong outing. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Bloomington now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 ABL World Series.
Cahue, a native of Heredia, Costa Rica, was dealing all game. He kept Havana hitters off-balance, while giving the Blazers 7 quality innings. Cahue threw 109 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 12.
Havana manager Ramón Torrez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at The Humidor in Havana. Slated to start are Joop Siebelink for the Bloomington Blazers and Bob Tamez for the the Havana Stogies.
