Montreal Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-1
The Montreal Bandits have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Bloomington Blazers, winning 4-3 at Stade Claude Raymond today. Bandits left-hander Frank Gallagher threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bandits to 3-1 in the best-of-7 League Pennant.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Dave Dimond came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Bloomington pitcher Jeramie Stewart, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Montreal on top, 4-3.

"We'll savor this win," Gallagher told the Montreal Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."

Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at Stade Claude Raymond. The scheduled starters for the game are Ruben Cahue for the Bloomington Blazers and Carlos Adujar for the the Montreal Bandits.
