Almost There: Loachapoka On Cusp of R3 Triumph After 8-6 Win
The Loachapoka Junebugs moved to within one game of the Round 4 today, downing the visiting Traverse City Beach Bums at Loachapoka Camp Meeting by a score of 8-6. Junebugs left-hander Federico Miranda had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Junebugs a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 3.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Satoki Nakamura came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Traverse City pitcher Kyle Stober, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Loachapoka on top, 5-4.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Nakamura.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Loachapoka Camp Meeting in Birmingham.
