Junebugs, Beach Bums Play 10 to Settle Game 2, Loachapoka Now Leads Series 2-0
A big day on the mound from left-hander Steve Simpson was not enough to keep the Loachapoka Junebugs from opening up a healthy early lead in the Round 3. The Junebugs topped Simpson and the Traverse City Beach Bums 5-3 at The Royal Grounds today in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Simpson threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball in the loss.

Loachapoka used a timely hit from Bill Miller to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Junebugs ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We did enough to win," said Miller.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, November 14th , 2051 at Loachapoka Camp Meeting in Birmingham.
