Toreros Get 7-4 Win Versus San Francisco
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros weathered a fine game by San Francisco designated hitter Carlos Aispuro to upend the Earthquakes, 7-4, at Golden Gate Park. Aispuro went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Marty Taborda picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-2 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 7 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Jeff Lind, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 24th save.
Cabo San Lucas used the hitting of Andy Battista to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Toreros on top, 4-0. For the game, Battista had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Battista.
Cabo San Lucas is now 36-56. San Francisco is 48-44.
