The Hawaii Honu turned back the Bloomington Blazers, 6-5, at Arson Arena. Miles Sorrells, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jacob Spitler, now 3-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. With the win, the Honu have a record of 53-53.
Matt White came through with a big-time hit for Hawaii. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Sorrells.
