Gremlins Lose to Sasquatch, 4-3
|
Geoff Raines did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Houghton Gremlins from being beaten, 4-3, to the Seattle Sasquatch at Golden Goebels Park. Raines went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Juan Macias, the winner, is now 3-1. He struck out 3 and walked 1 over 6.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. Seattle is now 44-47. Houghton is 45-46.
Seattle won the game in part because of Corbin Betts. The designated hitter ripped a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Sasquatch ahead, 4-1. For the game, Betts had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Betts told the Seattle Herald. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
