Bison Get Extra-Inning, 5-4 Win
|
The Bighorn Bison beat the Pennsylvania Butterflies, 5-4, in 11 innings at The Kaleidoscope. Bill Dunlap, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Nick Merritt came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-5. Bighorn is now 50-55, Pennsylvania 36-69.
Dunlap had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-2 sinker from Randy McCafferty, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Bison a 5-4 lead. It was the 29th home run of the year for Dunlap.
In postgame remarks, Dunlap said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
