Slice Win Nail-Biter
|
The Manhattan Slice did just enough to secure a victory over the Hawaii Honu, 3-2, in 10 innings at Copps Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Marco Garcia. Manhattan reliever Benito Sera picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Bert Aldridge absorbed the loss. With the victory, the Slice record stands at 42-49.
The Slice got a clutch hit from left fielder Will Emery. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Slice.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Emery said.
