Cabo San Lucas beat Dallas at Field de Los Layendas, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder Mark Launay. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. Andy Carr was called on to finish, recording his 14th save. The last-place Toreros improved to 38-67.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Danny Douglass came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Chris Bagley, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cabo San Lucas on top, 6-5.

"We've got to get out of this funk," said Dallas manager Lester Burrow.
